USE A WALL CALENDAR
I've already bought one and starting filling out January. This will help to keep me on track with balancing work, socializing, volunteering and personal time. I'm a total visual person so seeing my daily/weekly/monthly activities all planned out will help to keep me focused.
BLOG MORE FREQUENTLY
As mentioned in my previous post, my life sometimes moves at breakneck speed and I don't always remember what happens. Blogging will be a way to file away some of those memories and also remind me of what the hell I'm supposed to be doing when I look back fondly at my blog archives.
MEDITATE DAILY
I was pretty good at this for a while, but then I got distracted and fell off the yoga mat. Meditating daily keeps me cool as a cucumber and at the same time, warm like a freshly baked sticky bun. I should get my Om on at least twice a day now that I think about it.
EXERCISE WEEKLY
Being active is just generally a good habit to have. I'm pretty active since I'm roaming the streets of LA sans auto, so the focus here will be working up a good sweat intentionally (and not because I'm running to the bus stop because I left my house 10 minutes late).
BE MORE FOCUSED
This will undoubtedly involve creating more lists, which I'm actually quite fond of so I'm excited to be focused on focusing my energies on meaningful tasks. Focus.
SAVE MONEY
I am not afraid to admit that I have been terrible with saving money. In admitting it to anyone who cares to read my blog (which could potentially be either 2 million people, or 2) I think it makes me feel more of a responsibility to do so. I am (I almost typed I'm trying to) saving money to attend school in NY in the fall (Natural Gourmet Institute!!!) so learning this lesson this year is crucial to my adult existence and moving my life forward. I should just go ahead and ban myself from shopping at Whole Foods, right?
EMBRACE MY CREATIVE SIDE
I started doodling. Which turned into drawing, which has turned into painting. Something in the meditating and letting go of old fears has allowed me to be comfortable in the space of creating once more. Yay!
FOLLOW MY INSTINCTS MORE OFTEN
Stop second guessing. Stop dillydallying. Stop waiting for someone else to take the lead. Following my instincts will lead to taking action towards the issues that I care about.
PLAN MY SCHEDULE
And actually follow it. I know that for most people, getting the wall calendar would be enough, but I am the queen of self distraction, so I had to put this on my list twice, the second time cleverly disguised as something completely the same. I'm a dreamer and dreamers tend to be kind of iffy on the follow through. But now I'm a dreamer with a wall calendar and several lists, so things will actually get done in a timely manner.
VOLUNTEER MY TIME
I have used my time for lots of silly things in life. I will now use my time to help other people.
So that's my list. Time to Fucking Do It.
